    Ludlow Racecourse

    Located close to the Welsh Borders, there can be few courses that offer a more relaxed feel to a day’s racing than Ludlow. The course plays host to National Hunt fixtures across the year but mainly in the season months which are attended by a strong, local presence. The quality of racing ranges from fair to useful and horses that race close to the pace are often favored.

    Ludlow Fringe FetivaL

    Ludlow Fringe is an independent Arts, Community and Culture festival, established as a Community Interest Company in 2013 to provide an annual inclusive, vibrant and diverse Arts Festival within the town of Ludlow during June and July.

    We’re a small voluntary organisation and would love to hear from you whether you’re a performer or a keen volunteer with a talent for admin. Whatever your skills and passion, we can find a role to suit you, however small or big! The core team behind the Fringe has a wide range of experience, everything from arts production, management, PR & marketing and technical production to business.

    We’re also keen to make Ludlow Fringe accessible and affordable, our maximum ticket price is £15 and many of our events are free.

    Shobdon Food and Flying Festival

    Welcome to the website of the Shobdon Food and Flying Festival sponsored by Bestparks.     Ludlow10 is the newest event brought to you by Be Endurance. Take the opportunity to run through the closed roads of one of the country’s prettiest towns on a summer evening. Ludlow is well known for it’s narrow and hilly roads and we have made sure we include a number of the key landmarks. Ludlow10 is perfect for all abilities and there is also a shorter 5km beginner-friendly option. Come and join us for the evening – remember, you can do it.

    Ludlow Green Festival


    Castle Square
    Ludlow Green Festival is an annual attraction for both local people and visitors, celebrating all things ‘green’.

    In 2017 it is moving forward from the August Bank Holiday to July 9. This year’s theme is ‘Join the Green Revolution’. Just as Shropshire played a key role in the Industrial Revolution, so now Ludlow is pioneering ways of responding to the challenges of sustainability and resilience in the 21st century.

    Lots of stalls & activities – informative & fun! Music throughout the day, And of course plenty to eat and drink!

    A not-to-be-missed event for all the whole family.

    A walk on Whitcliffe Common


    Join Carl Pickup, Shropshire Wildlife Trust’s Reserve Manager, for an interesting and informative ramble around Whitcliffe Common.
    Meet at the lay-by near the viewpoint on the Ludlow to Wigmore Road (Grid Ref. SO 505743) Stout footwear and appropriate outdoor wear should be worn. Please note there are no toilet facilities on the common.

    Tenbury Countryside Show 2017

    The Tenbury Countryside Show is a traditional countryside show featuring livestock, horses and horticulture and rural arts and crafts.

    Now in its 159th year, it continues to grow, and every year a team of dedicated volunteers put on a show that attracts 1000’s of visitors.

    With exhibits, competitions, main ring events, animals, childrens entertainment, tractor pulling, trade stands, concessions and local ales and ciders.

    It really is a great day out for everyone and not to be missed by young or old.

    Why not put SATURDAY 5th AUGUST 2017 in your diary and order your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

    Ludlow is certainly one of the prettiest settings for a food festival. With the event taking place inside the ruined castle. There’s also the famous ale and sausage trails, cookery demonstrations, hands-on workshops and much more!

    Creativity and Relaxation Week

    Walcot Hall are very excited to share a creativity and relaxation event hosted by Alkimi and Aura in September this year…

    Alkimi and Aura is a new Sheffield based wellbeing company that specialises in natural beauty products and they have chosen Walcot Hall for their first relaxation and creativity retreat.
    The Creativity and Relaxation Week is for women of all ages, which will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Walcot Hall, Shropshire from the 18th to 22nd September.

    The five day retreat will include nourishing food, simple and relaxing yoga, and fun, creative artist-led activities. Each woman will also receive a goodie box of Alkimi & Aura natural cosmetics and candles.

    There will be no need for you to have done any yoga before or be an artist; the week is aimed at any woman, no matter what your ability or talent is. It’s an ideal retreat if you are simply looking for space to relax, be in a creative and supportive environment and enjoy stunning surroundings.

    The relaxation sessions will be led by Mandy Bryce, a yoga teacher based in Shropshire, who previously taught at the Sheffield Yoga Centre and the art sessions will be led by Jan Flamank, a Sheffield based artist. Both have years of experience in their areas of expertise. Mandy and Jan are friendly and supportive leaders and also great fun.
